Bastian Schweinsteiger featured for Bayern Munich and Chicago Fire in his testimonial match.

Bayern Munich legend Bastian Schweinsteiger received a star studded tesimonal at the Allianz Arena in a friendly against his current side Chicago Fire.

The game ended 4-0 in favour of the reigning Bundesliga Champions as Schweinsteiger featured for both sides and was even on the scoresheet.

 

Serge Gnabry and Sandro Wagner scored in the first half for Bayern while Schweinsteiger featured for Chicago Fire.

He switched sides after the break and Arjen Robben extended the lead for the Bavarians.

 

Schweinsteiger got a huge cheer when he scored the fourth of game when he slotted in a cross by David Alaba.

The 34-year-old joined the Bayern Academy at 13 and was promoted to the first team where he made his debut against Stuggart.

 

He played along side current Bayern Boss Nico Kovac  and went to to make over 500 appearances and won a total of 26 major trophies.

Schweinsteiger got support from his wife Ana Ivanovic who was in attendance as the Bayern and Chicago Fire team gave him a guard of honour.

 

He also gave the crowd a speech which he charged the supporters for the role they played during his successful time at Bayern.

Schweinsteiger also addressed the crowd to thank them for their support on the night and over the years. The midfielder achieved a remarkable level of success during his time at the storied German club.

 

He hold a joint record of eight Bundesliga title along with former teammates Oliver Kahn, Philip Lahm and Franck Ribery.

He also played a key role as German won the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil as the vice captain of the team.
