CAF Confederation Cup: Twitter reacts as Enyimba beat Cara Brazzaville on return to home ground

Enyimba Vs Cara Brazzaville

A late goal from Alalade gave Enyimba all the three points to finish top of Group C and progress to the quarter-final.

Twitter Nigeria paid full attention as Enyimba returned to their home ground in Aba for the first time in three years to beat Cara Brazzaville 1-0 to reach the quarter-finals of the 2018 CAF Confederations Cup.

Wasiu Alalade scored in added time to hand Enyimba all the three points which meant they finish top of Group C to progress to the quarter-final.

After the game, Nigerians took to Twitter to express their excitement at Enyimba’s feat.

‏”Enyimba left it late, scratch that, Enyimba left it toooo late to get a 1-0 win over Cara. I screamed!,” @Phatill wrote.

I'm happy for Enyimba winning the match against CARA Brazzaville, and I totally love the new stadium,” @NejeebBello said on Twitter.

Pitch invasion

While many fans celebrated the win on Twitter, some others are disappointed with the pitch invasion which happened after Enyimba late goal.

“I watched my Aba people invade the pitch after the match between Enyimba and CARA Brazzaville and I felt embarrassed. This Aba mentality seems like it has come to stay. You people said the stadium is Int'l okwa ya? Do Chelsea fans invade their pitch after a tough match? Tueeh!,” @OfficialChinedz tweeted.

The CAF Confederation Cup game went on top of Twitter Nigeria trend with ‘CAFCC’ while ‘Enyimba’ and ‘CARA Brazzaville’ were also among the trending items.
