Henry Onyekuru: Galatasaray forward scores 2nd goal of the season

Henry Onyekuru continued his good goalscoring form as Galatasaray beat Alanyaspor.

Henry Onyekuru was again on target with his second goal of the season as Galatasaray beat Alanyaspor 6-0 on Monday, August 27.

The Super Eagles forward scored the winner for Galatasaray as they beat Goztepe 1-0 in their last Turkish Super Lig fixture and continued his goalscoring form against Alanyaspor.

The 21-year-old was named among the starting eleven by head coach Fatih Terim following his heroics last week.

Galatasaray took a slender one-goal lead in the first half through Fernando, but they turned up the style in the second half.

Sinan Gumus, Eren Derdiyok, and Emre Akbaba all scored to give Galatasaray a comfortable advantage.

Onyekuru then seized the opportunity to score add his name to the scoreline when he scored Galatasaray fifth of the night.

The Nigeria international however did not complete the game as he was substituted just after he scored for Yunus Akgun in the 83rd minute.

Emre Akbaba scored his second of the game to wrap up the goals for Galatasaray, who now have three wins from three games in the league.

Onyekuru took to his official Twitter account to express his delight about getting on the scoresheet yet again.

He said, “A fantastic team win! Couldn’t dream of a better result. Happy with my goal as well. ⚽ All glory be to God! Can’t wait for the next one!”

Onyekuru is expected to return to action when Galatasaray travel to face his compatriots Anthony Nwakaeme and Ogenyi Onazi's Trabzonspor in their next league fixture scheduled for Saturday, September 1.
