What’s New in Windows 10 Cumulative Update KB4464217

Microsoft has just published a new cumulative update for Windows 10 Fall Creators Update (version 1709).

While it’s a bit surprising to see new cumulative updates landing so fast after this month’s Patch Tuesday cycle, it’s important to know that the purpose of KB4464217 isn’t to fix security vulnerabilities in Windows 10.

Instead, this new cumulative update comes to correct two different bugs in the operating system, one of which concerns VPN connections.

Microsoft explains that some Windows 10 Fall Creators Update may not be able to connect to VPN servers using the IKEv2 protocol, with an error blocking the connection from establishing and reading “Remote Access Error 809.” KB4464217 should resolve this bug, so systems should try to connect to VPN once patching is complete.

Just two known issues

The second bugfix concerns Microsoft Intune, with Microsoft explaining that KB4464217 addresses a glitch that was discovered in all OS version updated.
